Beautiful system used as a sales display model. The pump, which runs continuously when the unit is powered on has only 18.27 hours on it, about 1.5 of which were during our testing. The evaporator has seen nothing but display and testing usage.

Tested though a couple different cycles. All controls functioned flawlessly. Centrifuge, temperature and vacuum control systems all operated without a hitch. This system is clean and looks brand new other than a couple minor dings from storage and transportation. Comes with everything shown including the following:

  • GeneVac HT-4X Series II Centrifugal Evaporator
  • GeneVac CVP100-CP MK4 Chemical Vapor Vacuum Pump
  • Master Control Cable
  • Flexible Stainless Steel Vacuum Tube, clamps and o-rings.

HT-4X SII Description

Genevac's new HT-4X centrifugal vacuum evaporator has been specifically designed for the drug discovery laboratory.

Building on the worldwide success of the earlier systems, the HT-4X has been developed with input from pharmaceutical research scientists. The new system incorporates enhanced capabilities and higher performance as well as many new features.

The HT-4X is easy to use, ultra compact, high performance and ensures efficient sample processing. The built-in dual chamber refrigerated condenser is a powerful cryopump and solvent recovery system. This unique dual purpose, compact design saves valuable laboratory bench space. The complete system uses approximately half the bench space of standard centrifugal evaporation systems.  In addition, the HT-4X can also be used to achieve high speed lyophilisation of HPLC fractions and solvents used for reformatting samples.

CVP100 Description:

The Genevac CVP vapour vacuum pumps work on the Cole Principle, which enables them to pump all acid and solvent vapours with no regular maintenance and no oil changes.

Based upon the unique and patented Cole principle, the pump uses a high velocity stream of fluid in a rotating drum, passing over a stationary wing-shaped foil to create a vacuum cavity at the top of the leading edge. A slot on the foil allows a stream of gas or vapour bubbles to be drawn into the fluid and spiral into the central exhaust zone under centripetal force. This effluent then passes through an inert silicone fluid in the pump towards the central rotating axis to be drawn through the vacuum port for condensing and safe disposal.

Cole vacuum pumps are built to withstand acid, alkali, organic solvent and water vapours in normal use without the need for cold or chemical traps.

Cole vacuum pumps will consistently reach pressures below 0.5mbar enabling evaporation of even high boiling solvents such as DMSO and NMP.

The pump requires little maintenance, save regular topping up with inexpensive silicone fluid to maintain continuous high performance pumping of vapours.
