Magnetic Cell Enrichment Module & Microbead Column from
MACS VYB Fluorescent Protein Cell Counter/Flow Cytometer by Miltenyi Biotec

Clean and in excellent condition. This system was well maintained in a working, high profile DOE facility. Fully tested and operational until the main yellow laser module went out. The cost of replacing the laser module was too prohibitive to justify so the system is being parted out.

You can read over the technical notes during the original test runs below. All active unit photos were taken during those tests. Since the unit was functioning perfectly before the laser failed, we are confidently offering a functional guarantee on this module.

Comes with Magnetic Enrichment Module and Microbead Column as shown. All other photos from previous test and display are to show functionality only. No components other than the module and column are included.

Hassle-Free Warranty

Manufacturer Description

Rare cell analysis, without the waiting Save time without compromising on the quality and sensitivity of your rare cell analyses. With the MACSQuant Column and MACSQuant Cell Enrichment Unit you can easily enrich rare cell populations prior to multiparametric cell analysis.

Integrating the power of MACS® Technology with flow cytometry

Performing rare cell pre-enrichment prior to analysis serves to:
• Significantly reduce lengthy acquisition times
• Deliver highly sensitive rare cell analysis
• Allow easy analysis of particularly challenging rare cell samples, such as those in high or low volumes of buffer

Rare cell analysis, out of the box

Many kits and reagents have been optimized for the efficient identification and enumeration of a number of cell types and their subsets, including:
• Dendritic cells
• Endothelial progenitor cells
• Cancer stem cells
• Cytokine-secreting cells
• Antigen-specific T cells
• Circulating tumor cells

**Previous Test Notes and Complete System Description:**

Powered up, passed self test hardware sequence and booted into the MACSQuantify software suite. All systems appear to function perfectly. Please see the tech notes below for a breakdown of the various tests and component responses:

  • Power on: Unit powered to standby via external power switch and then to full on with a tap to the touch screen.
  • Touch Screen: Clean with no noticeable pixel failure or color bleed. Touch response was accurate and responsive.
  • Boot/Software: Boot to login and then full access as admin or user to MACSQuantify software. Software was responsive and operated without issue. External mouse (included) and keyboard (not included) functioned appropriately.
  • Self Test: Upon power up, system performed a series of hardware tests, activating fluidic control, pumps, sampler motors, plate rack and internal components. Completed without error.
  • Media Sensors: Fully functional. Interactive colored light indicators functioned showing when media bottles were present with media, as well as alerting the user when depleted.
  • Uptake Sampler and Tray Assembly: Motor control and response works perfectly. Uptake functions as designed. Tray movement was accurate and smooth.
  • Acquisition and Analysis Modes: Test runs (without cell material) in both modes ran and completed without issue. Uptake from buffer, washing and storage solutions, as well as discarding of waste medias all functioned as designed. Incubation and washing functions in analysis mode also functioned correctly.
  • Hardware Monitor Results: All valves, pumps, syringe drives, laser emitters and detectors were operating within expected parameters. Readings were monitored throughout acquisition and analysis test runs.
  • Calibration: Following the user manual, calibration was straight forward. We were able to successfully calibrate the following uptake systems: Needle Arm, Single tube rack, 96 well rack, as well as the following rack detection systems: Single tube rack acquisition and button detection, Rack detection. We were unable to calibrate the rest of the uptake systems as we did not have the various rack styles and filter plates to conduct the calibration.
  • Power Down: Following Acquisition and Data Analysis procedures, instrument was shut down from the software. System preformed closing operations and software shutdown before dropping back into standby.
  • Tech notes: External inspection revealed a well maintained system with no noticeable flaws. Fluidics operated properly and tubing is unobstructed and clean. While we were not able to show clinical results with actual cell material, there do not appear to be any issues that would prevent this system from functioning perfectly in clinical applications.
