The Sorvall SLA-1500 is a high-capacity, fixed-angle "Super-Speed" rotor designed for large-volume sample processing. Engineered with a 25° tube angle, it is optimized for the rapid pelleting of bacteria, yeast, and whole cells from large culture volumes. Despite its massive 1.5-liter total capacity, the SLA-1500 is constructed from high-strength, lightweight aluminum to reduce kinetic load on the centrifuge drive and allow for easier manual handling compared to traditional steel rotors.
